ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

Breast lift surgery, also known as mastopexy, addresses breast ptosis and loss of firmness that may develop after pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss, or natural aging. The procedure is designed to lift and reshape the breast; it does not increase breast volume on its own.Breast

During surgery, excess skin is assessed and removed, breast tissue is reshaped, and the nipple-areola complex is repositioned to a more proportionate level. The incision pattern may be around the areola, vertical, or extended into the breast crease depending on the degree of sagging and the correction required.Breast

  • Lifts sagging breasts and improves breast shape
  • Removes excess skin and tightens surrounding tissue
  • Repositions the nipple and areola in better proportion
  • Does not increase breast volume as a standalone procedure

INDICATIONS

Have noticeable breast sagging or flattening.
Notice that the nipples or areolas sit low on the breast or point downward.
Have lost breast shape or firmness after pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss, or aging.
Have a difference in breast shape or degree of sagging between the two sides.
Have adequate breast volume but want improved position and contour rather than a major size increase.
Are in good general health and maintain a reasonably stable weight.
Understand that surgery improves breast shape and elevation but leaves permanent scars that mature over time.Breast

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Pregnancy is planned soon, as it may affect breast shape and surgical results.
Weight is unstable or significant weight changes are expected.
A substantial increase in breast size is the main priority; a combined lift and augmentation plan may be more appropriate after assessment.
Uncontrolled medical conditions, bleeding disorders, or healing concerns increase surgical risk.
The patient smokes and cannot follow the required cessation plan before surgery.
There are unexplained breast lumps, cysts, or changes that require specialist evaluation first.
Expectations assume scar-free results or guarantee that breast position will never change with aging, pregnancy, or weight fluctuations.Breast

HOW THE PROCEDURE WORKS

[ 05 ]

Assessment and planning

The process begins with assessment of breast ptosis, nipple and areola position, skin elasticity, breast volume, and side-to-side symmetry. The surgeon then selects the most appropriate lift technique and anticipated incision pattern based on the degree of correction required.

[ 06 ]

During surgery

  • The procedure is usually performed under general anaesthesia.
  • Excess skin is removed according to the surgical plan.
  • Surrounding breast tissue is tightened and reshaped to improve lift and support.
  • The nipple and areola are repositioned to a higher, more proportionate position while preserving their blood supply in most cases.
  • Areola size may be reduced when needed.
  • Incisions are closed with fine sutures and a surgical bra is applied for support.Breast

After surgery

  • Swelling, bruising, and a feeling of tightness are normal during the first days.
  • A surgical bra is worn for the period recommended to support healing tissues.
  • Sleeping on the back and avoiding heavy lifting or forceful arm movements are advised initially.
  • Follow-up appointments monitor healing, scar maturation, and breast symmetry.Breast

RESULT

The lift and change in breast shape are visible immediately after surgery, but the final result develops gradually as swelling resolves and tissues settle. Over the following months, the breasts soften, scars improve, and the contour reaches its more natural and stable form.Breast

The objective is a higher, more balanced breast contour that suits the patient’s body, not an artificial look or unnecessary increase in size. Aging, weight changes, and future pregnancy can influence the result over time, while stable weight and good skin care help support it.

  • Clear improvement in breast position and shape
  • More proportionate nipple and areola placement
  • Progressive scar and contour improvement over the following months
  • Weight stability supports longer-lasting results
