What is Total Body Lift? A patient-friendly guide to the procedure
August 22, 2026
A total body lift is a comprehensive surgical plan designed to improve loose skin across multiple body areas after major weight loss, reshaping the body through carefully staged or combined lifting procedures.
ABOUT THE PROCEDURE
A total body lift is not one identical operation for every patient. It is an individualized treatment plan that combines several lifting procedures according to the areas affected by skin laxity and the patient’s overall goals. The plan may include abdominal and flank tightening, back lift, buttock lift, arm lift, thigh lift, or selected breast procedures when appropriate.
The goal is not to perform the greatest number of surgeries in one session. It is to organize treatment safely and logically, taking into account anaesthesia time, ability to recover, general health, and weight stability. For many patients, staging procedures is the safest and most effective way to achieve a comprehensive result.
