When may Arm Definition not be suitable?
August 22, 2026
Arm definition is a precise body contouring procedure designed to reduce localized fat around the arms and reveal natural muscle lines for a more refined, balanced appearance.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
The procedure may not be appropriate, or may need to be postponed, when:
- There is significant loose skin, as fat removal alone may not provide the desired contour.
- Weight is substantially above the target range or fluctuating significantly.
- Underlying muscle tone is limited, reducing the potential for visible definition.
- Uncontrolled medical conditions or bleeding/healing disorders increase surgical risk.
- Expectations involve an extreme muscular appearance that does not match the patient's anatomy.
INDICATIONS
Arm definition may be suitable for patients who:
- Have localized arm fat that persists despite exercise and weight management.
- Are close to a stable weight and seek contour improvement rather than major weight loss.
- Have sufficient underlying muscle tone for definition to be visible.
- Have reasonably good skin elasticity that can adapt after fat removal.
- Want a more refined arm shape without extensive skin excision.
