ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

Breast augmentation is not simply about choosing a larger cup size. A successful plan considers chest width, skin quality, existing breast tissue, body proportions, and the degree of fullness the patient wants. Silicone implants may help restore volume after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight change, improve naturally small breasts, or correct noticeable asymmetry.Breast

Implants are available in different shapes and levels of cohesiveness, including round and anatomical options. The implant type, size, and position are chosen after a detailed assessment. Depending on the anatomy and desired outcome, the implant may be placed above the chest muscle, beneath it, or in a dual-plane position.Breast

  • Enhances breast volume and fullness in balanced proportions
  • Can restore volume lost after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss
  • May improve noticeable breast asymmetry
  • Implant shape, size, and placement are individually selected

INDICATIONS

Have naturally small breasts and want a noticeable but proportionate increase in volume.
Have experienced volume loss after pregnancy, breastfeeding, or weight loss.
Have visible asymmetry in breast size or shape.
Want a degree of augmentation that may not be achievable through fat transfer alone.
Are in good general health and maintain a reasonably stable weight.
Have realistic expectations and understand that implants require long-term follow-up and may require future revision or replacement.Breast

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Pregnancy is planned soon or major weight changes are expected, as these can affect breast shape and the surgical result.
Weight is unstable or there is significant obesity that should be addressed first.
Uncontrolled medical conditions, bleeding disorders, or factors affecting anaesthesia and healing are present.
The patient smokes and cannot follow preoperative cessation requirements.
There is untreated breast cancer history or breast changes requiring specialist evaluation before surgery.
Expectations assume a perfect result without scars, maintenance, or future monitoring.Breast

HOW THE PROCEDURE WORKS

[ 05 ]

Assessment and planning

The process begins with a discussion of desired shape and volume, followed by assessment of chest width, breast tissue, skin quality, breast symmetry, and overall body proportions. Implant shape, size, and placement are selected to create a balanced result rather than simply maximize volume.

During surgery

  • The procedure is usually performed under general anaesthesia.
  • The incision is selected carefully and may be placed in the breast crease, around the areola, or in the underarm area depending on the treatment plan.
  • A surgical pocket is created above the muscle, below the muscle, or in a dual-plane position.
  • The implants are placed and checked for symmetry before the incisions are closed with fine sutures.
  • A surgical bra supports the breasts during early recovery.Breast

After surgery

  • Swelling, tightness, and bruising are expected to varying degrees in the early days.
  • A surgical bra is worn as directed to support the tissues.
  • Sleeping on the back and avoiding heavy lifting or strenuous arm movement are recommended initially.
  • Follow-up appointments monitor wound healing, implant settling, and the evolving breast shape.Breast

RESULT

Improvement in volume and shape is visible immediately after surgery, but the final result takes time because of normal swelling and the settling process of the implants and surrounding tissues. Over the following weeks and months, the breasts soften, the implants settle into position, and the contour becomes more natural.Breast

The aim is fuller, balanced breasts that suit the patient’s body — not simply the largest possible size. Weight stability, adherence to recovery instructions, and regular implant follow-up support a healthy long-term result.

  • Considered enhancement of breast volume and fullness
  • Progressive improvement in breast shape and softness
  • Final result evolves over the months after surgery
  • Implant follow-up is an essential part of long-term care
