ABOUT THE PROCEDURE

A Brazilian Butt Lift uses fat collected from areas with excess volume, such as the abdomen, waist, back, or thighs. The fat is processed and carefully placed into selected areas of the buttocks to improve fullness, contour, and balance. The procedure therefore reshapes both the donor areas and the buttock area, helping create a more harmonious relationship between the waist, hips, and gluteal contour.

No implants are used. The final outcome depends on available donor fat, tissue quality, existing body proportions, and the individualized fat-placement plan. Some transferred fat is naturally absorbed during healing, so the expected result is planned with long-term volume retention in mind.

  • Uses the patient's own fat for natural buttock enhancement.
  • Combines body contouring with improved gluteal volume and shape.
  • Does not rely on implants or synthetic fillers.
  • Individually planned for projection, fullness, and proportion.
  • Procedure duration: 2–6 hours, depending on the number of donor areas and the extent of sculpting.
  • Results: initial results become visible after about 1 month, with final results stabilizing after 4–6 months.
  • Recovery: initial recovery takes 7–14 days, with full recovery and return to normal activity within 4–6 weeks.

INDICATIONS

Want greater buttock fullness, projection, or improved shape with their own fat.
Have enough donor fat in areas such as the abdomen, waist, back, or thighs.
Have lost buttock volume after notable weight loss or body changes.
Wish to improve the balance between the waist, hips, and buttocks.
Are in stable general health and have a reasonably stable weight.
Understand that final volume develops gradually and that some fat absorption is expected.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

There is insufficient donor fat available for a meaningful transfer.
Weight is unstable or major weight change is expected soon.
Uncontrolled medical conditions, bleeding disorders, or healing concerns increase surgical risk.
The patient smokes and cannot follow the required preoperative cessation plan.
Expectations involve excessive volume that is not compatible with the patient's anatomy or available fat.
The patient is unable to follow recovery instructions, including avoiding direct pressure on the buttocks during the initial healing period.

HOW THE PROCEDURE WORKS

[ 05 ]

Assessment and planning

The procedure begins with an assessment of fat distribution, skin quality, existing buttock shape, and the desired relationship between the waist, hips, and gluteal area. At Z Clinic, high-frequency aesthetic ultrasound is used during this phase to assess fat thickness, muscle boundaries, and vascular structures in both donor and injection zones. Donor zones and injection zones are then marked carefully with ultrasound guidance to create a balanced silhouette rather than simply increasing size, ensuring that fat placement aligns safely and precisely with the patient's underlying anatomy.

Fat harvesting and preparation

  • Fat is removed from selected donor areas through small incisions using fine cannulas.
  • The collected fat is purified and separated from blood, fluids, and non-viable material.
  • The prepared fat is assessed before being used for transfer.

Fat transfer

  • Fat is placed in carefully selected points and layers to create even distribution and natural contour.
  • The plan considers upper fullness, central volume, side contour, and the transition into the hips.
  • Long, blunt-tip cannulas are used with an appropriate injection technique and safety-focused surgical planning.
  • Ultrasound is used during fat injection to confirm the depth and plane of placement in real time, helping to keep the fat within the intended subcutaneous or intramuscular layers and away from deeper vascular structures.

Postoperative phase

  • Compression garments support the liposuction areas as directed.
  • Direct pressure on the buttocks is avoided for the period recommended by the surgeon; a dedicated cushion may be used when sitting is necessary.
  • Early sleeping positions commonly include the stomach or side to protect the transferred fat.
  • Follow-up appointments monitor swelling, healing, and the progressive settling of shape and volume.

Scars

Small 2 mm openings are made in hidden places, typically within natural skin folds or discreet areas such as the lower back, groin crease, or around the hips. With proper aftercare, these tiny entry points fade progressively and become barely noticeable over time.

Equipment

To achieve safe and precise results, Z Clinic uses:

  • VASER (ultrasound-assisted liposuction) – for efficient, controlled fat harvesting from donor areas with minimal trauma.
  • Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL) – to facilitate smooth, even removal of fibrous fat in donor zones.
  • Aesthetic Ultrasound – for pre-surgical mapping of donor and gluteal areas, and for real-time guidance during fat injection to enhance safety and accuracy.

RESULT

The initial shape is visible immediately, but it is not the final result because of normal swelling and the natural absorption of some transferred fat during the first months. As swelling settles and the surviving fat stabilizes, the buttock contour becomes more defined and proportionate.

The goal of a Brazilian Butt Lift is not maximum size. It is natural fullness, considered projection, and curves that suit the patient's frame. Stable weight and careful adherence to recovery instructions are important for supporting long-term volume retention and contour.

  • Improved fullness, projection, and buttock contour.
  • Gradual refinement of the final shape over the first months.
  • Partial fat absorption is expected during healing.
  • Stable weight and recovery compliance support lasting results.
